Much respected chef David Gale has gone back to basics with his superb bistro in Whitefield. The menu features classic, comforting dishes such as Lancashire Hot Pot alongside grills, fish, and homely puddings. Described as 'casual fine-dining', he is taking few risks but does what he does to perfection.
David Gale returned to Manchester twenty years ago after working at Soho House in New York. He headed up the kitchen at Abode, then Deansgate Hilton, before becoming a consultant chef. The residents of Whitefield have got lucky with this one: there are few suburban restaurants with an internationally-known chef at the helm.
