Colleen’s: The new name for one of Ramsbottom’s award-winning restaurants

What’s in a name? Well, to us, it’s quite a lot. That’s why we’ve called our restaurant Colleen’s. Running a relaxed little neighbourhood restaurant, we try and make it a personal place, where people feel at home so we’ve decided to rename The Hungry Duck after Tom’s late Grandma, Colleen.

We put everything into our restaurant and we wanted the name to reflect who we are. You’ll still find all the fantastic local produce we source from independent suppliers; you’ll still find the same quality and the same value as you’re used to enjoying at The Hungry Duck, only this time, it’s personal.

We’re always working towards offering you the best possible service and the best possible food. Our food is honest, without airs and graces, but it tastes great. It’s ambitious but affordable. It’s like fine dining in slippers – comfortable, comforting but always special.

From dishes like roasted baby carrots with house made fresh cheese and walnuts to roasted and braised rabbit with Bury black pudding, swede and caramelised onions, we’re always trying to bring out the best of every ingredient.

We’re well known for our Sunday Lunches. They always hit the spot – prime beef, beautiful bronzed roast chickens, fish dishes, superb vegetarian options – and they’re generous too.

We also offer brunch and lunch menus as well as some pretty fine cocktails, because as a neighbourhood restaurant, we want you to feel at home all day long – coming to life over a bowl of cinnamon porridge with poached pears or kicking back with an after-dinner whiskey sour.
