Four reasons to watch the World Cup at Cafe Football

The 2017/18 Premier League season is over which can only mean one thing… the World Cup is just around the corner. We’ve come up with four reasons to watch the World Cup at Cafe Football Old Trafford and Cafe Football National Football Museum this summer. Why would you want to be anywhere else?

1. The Menu

There’s nothing better than having a special menu for a special tournament — and Cafe Football’s limited-edition dishes go hand-in-hand with the occasion.

Cafe Football has devised a delicious menu for the duration of this year’s World Cup tournament, paying homage to England’s trusted fare, the host’s unusual cuisine, as well as other popular dishes from participating nations.

Items include Pirozhki buns from Russia and the Great English Breakfast in a Bun to celebrate England’s squad.

2. The Atmosphere

Cafe Football has fast become one of the go-to destinations for major fixtures, which is no surprise when football is present in name and nature.

Both Cafe Football Old Trafford and Cafe Football National Football Museum boast a multitude of plasma TV screens, so spectators will never be hard-up for a view of the action.

The interiors have also been kitted out with retro apparel, supplied by Classic Football Shirts to fill guests with nostalgia around past tournaments.

The cafes are suitable for all ages, and are particularly popular with families, with a relaxed atmosphere and in-house sweet shop serving up retro sweets and ice-creams.

3. Tournament Bingo

If the menu and atmosphere weren’t enough to entice followers down, the cafes will also be running a classic football bingo game during non-England fixtures. Fans can win prizes whilst cheering on teams. Players will need to look out for ‘on the pitch’ events to chalk off lines or even a full house to win prizes from free pints to meal for 10.

Things to spot include simple wins such as goals, to other more unusual occurrences such as the sighting of Russia’s mascot, Zabivaka.

Bingo cards are available with the purchase of any food menu item and are available on non-England fixtures for the duration of the tournament.

4. Activities for Kids

Everyone remembers tearing into sticker packs as a child, hoping and praying for that Alan Shearer shiny, only to be let down by another Ian Walker swap.

This World Cup, today’s younger generation can enjoy this anticipation throughout the tournament, with the launch of Cafe Football’s very own sticker album. Featuring illustrations from Manchester-based artists Stan Chow and Neil Roberts, kids and big kids will be able to collect stickers of ‘World Cup wonders’, ‘EUROs heroes’ and even the National Football Museum’s trophy cabinet.

The sticker albums will be available with the purchase of a kid’s meal at Cafe Football Old Trafford or Cafe Football National Football Museum, with more stickers available with the purchase of each subsequent kid’s meal.

Make yourself part of the World Cup excitement at Cafe Football.
