HAPPY campers weren't so happy when much loved Bootle tent emporium Outdoor Megastore closed its doors last autumn, despatching Stan The Outdoor Man to a golden gazebo in the sky.
But the Rimrose Road pitch didn't stay vacant for long and GO Outdoors, the UK’s largest outdoor superstore, bagsied the site. After months of anticipation officially opening on Saturday.
GO Outdoors has ploughed £2 million into its brand new Liverpool home - its biggest investment yet in a single unit, employing 45 local outdoor enthusiasts. The store, at 107 Rimrose Road, conatins a whopping 40,000 square feet of clothing and equipment for camping, walking, climbing, riding, fishing, skiing, running and cycling.
Ex EastEnders actor Ross Kemp was in town to cut the ribbon on the new manor Saturday (but not the guy ropes), as the store launched with a day of barbecues and family activity,
But the celebrations continue on Liverpool Confidential which has teamed up with GO Outdoors to offer one lucky reader a super prize as the warm summer weather kicks in.
