From Friday 16 September – Sunday 23 October life is going to be Bundobar. We’re bringing you our take on Oktoberfest.
After all, it’s a celebration of beer whether you’re in Liverpool or Leipzig. How could we not?
Our spin on Oktoberfestivities will include four Indian street food takes on German beer hall fare, two Oktoberfest beer specials and a super limited edition ceramic stein crafted by internationally renowned potter Joe Hartley.
If you prefer a clean and malty pint of helles, our other collab is with world class Norfolk farmhouse brewery, Duration. We’ve come up with a 5% golden helles lager called Too Much Crispy which will be available on tap and in cans throughout our Bundobust Oktoberfest.
Our Bundobust chefs will be tackling German culinary tradition with Currywurst Koftas. These vegan takes on the beer hall classic are desi dumplings of cauliflower, cabbage and carrot are served with a classic currywurst sauce turbocharged with garam masala.
Another festival food special is Kartoffelpuffer. These potato and sauerkraut fritters are spiced with fresh fenugreek, chilli, fennel and ginger – so far, so Bundo – and then served with a traditional German cinnamon spiced applesauce dip.
Prost Pickles and Bataka Salat complete the Oktoberfest food offerings. The pickles are a medley of heritage carrot, mooli, radish, turnip and cauliflower, pickled with mustard, chilli, dill and peppercorns. Bataka Salat is a German-Indian potato salad of purple and new potatoes combined with dill, curried sour cream, tamarind chutney and crunchy samosa pastry.
Can’t decide what to order? Fear not, Bundobust have created an Oktoberfest combo for two for just £32, featuring Prost Pickles, Kartoffelpuffer, Bataka Salat, Currywurst Koftas, Okra Fries and Chole Saag.
It’s all going to be lovely and if you fancy a pint-sized souvenir you can buy a super limited edition ceramic stein from Bundobust. The range has been created by top potter Joe Hartley of Yellowhammer in Stockport. Sit back and sip from a stein and remember those good old Bundobust Oktoberfest days.
