Already aced the perfect G&T? Now you can learn how to distil your own gin
IF gin is your thing, take a look at what's happening at the Sis4ers Distillery at Salford Quays.
This all-female, all-family gin distillery has just opened a 'gin school' and is putting on tours and experiences that cover everything from which botanicals to blend in your small-batch gin, to how the sisters turned their dream of running a distillery into a reality.
Their in-house gin school has 20 miniature copper stills and over 50 botanicals for you to make your own 'signature' gin to take home.
The experiences are hands-on – they include either a tasting or blending session or both. And they give you a real insight into what goes on behind-the-scenes at a premium distillery. Hosted by the sisters themselves, you get a good sense of the family behind this family business. (The McAvoy sisters are the siblings of the brothers behind the SEVEN BRO7HERS craft beer brewery.)
The blending sessions are held in their in-house gin school where they have 20 miniature copper stills and over 50 botanicals so you can create your own 'signature' gin to take home.
There's also an events space where they host music nights.
The tours and experiences run weekly on Friday nights and Saturday afternoons. And look out for one-off events like their Mother's Day tour on 30 March.
