The beer lovers' bolthole turns ten this week - so they're staging a weekender

Surviving more than one year in the city's turbulent food and booze scene is commendable. Surviving ten years? Why, that's a bona fide miracle.

Dulcimer, Chorlton's long-serving beer-lovers' bolthole turns ten-years-old this week, and to mark this momentous occasion the bar is throwing an almighty (and utterly responsible) four-day weekender.

Thursday night there's soul, reggae and new wave DJs all-night downstairs at Heavy on the Haddon (free entry), while Friday it's the get-down, with funk, soul and hip-hop beats downstairs with Andy Shake 'N' Fingerpop & Friends (from 9pm), and upstairs its Manchester's own six-piece ska/pop/punk/drum'n'bass masher-uppers the XMenBteam live (from 9pm).

By Saturday they're well in the swing, with the Dulcimer DJ all-dayer, hosted by Family Affair (from 3pm-1.30am), while upstairs Manchester's raw funk ensemble Buffalo Brothers (a favourite of the funk master himself, Craig Charles) will be live from 9pm, followed by Stutter and Twitch DJs.

If you've still got anything in the tank by Sunday, then it's jaaaaaaaazz baby, all night loooooong.

Good music. Good Beer. Good vibes... and of course, good bloody pizza.

See you Southside with the lights down low.
