Featuring obstacles, foam pits and eleven different runs, Total Ninja will open on Friday 26 May in Trafford Park

They may have originated in medieval Japan but ninjas have fought their way into the 21st century, as our obsession with the sneaky undercover agents continues to grow.

No sooner had the Trafford Centre’s Legoland announced its new Ninjago City Adventure than Innovation Leisure - the parent company behind JUMP Inc trampoline parks in Rotherham, Leeds and Sheffield - has announced it will open the world’s largest ‘dedicated ninja park’ in Manchester this month.

Hot on the heels of the Saturday evening TV programme Ninja Warrior, Total Ninja will be the first park of its kind in the UK; with a 40,000 sq ft space featuring eleven different ninja runs.

The park, on Tenax Road in between Manchester’s Trafford Centre and Media City, features three different zones and equipment: one for age 6+, one for age 10+ and an ‘elite run for people who want to put their skills to the test and train for the TV programme’.

It will also house a Ninja-Fit gym training facility to improve strength and conditioning, and there’ll be professionals on-hand to help adrenaline addicts navigate the site.

Obstacles include a spider wall, quad steps, ring sliders, warped wall, rotating logs, the ‘sea of doors’, a floating bridge, tilting beams, a sea of swings and a scramble net - all supported by foam pits and giant airbags.

Chris Hayes, managing director of Innovation Leisure, said: “We’ve been working on bringing this to life for a while now and we’re extremely excited for its opening in May. We’ve made it bigger and better than what you might see on TV, and everyone can have a go.

“Ninja runs and obstacles have long since been part of our trampoline parks, but this huge, dedicated ninja park takes it to the next level. It’s the first of its kind in the UK and we believe it’ll be the largest in the world.”

The park opens to the public on Friday 26 May. Those who register and sign up for the newsletter may be one of 500 people to win free passes to try out the park on Thursday 25.
