Diners will be strapped into their seats and hoisted by crane above the Etihad

Manchester City FC might be flying in the Premiership, but soon there'll be diners soaring in their car park, as Cheshire bakers Robert's bring their 'Sky High Tea' to the Etihad Stadium on Thursday 19 October.

The pop-up restaurant comprises a 22-seat dining table hoisted 100 feet into the air by crane, with diners strapped into their seats before tucking into an afternoon tea including 'super-cool' artisan bloomer sarnies and 'boozy baked gin and tonic fun buns'.

The one day event will be the first of its kind for the North West, following previous sky high dining events in London, Glasgow and Bristol.

Unfortunately seats on the day are invite only, though some are still up for grabs through competitions and giveaways (so keep an eye on their Twitter).

Stuart Spencer-Calnan, Managing Director of Roberts, said: “We’re inviting guests to enjoy a totally different and unique experience - enjoying the most al fresco afternoon tea, made from our delicious new bakery products, at a seriously high altitude. It’s set to be simply breath-taking with spectacular views of the city.”
