Get your teeth into one of Zouk’s gorgeous grills, meat, fish or veggie
BRADFORD’S Zouk Teabar & Grill has been serving diners fantastic food from across the Indian sub-continent for over ten years. And it’s no surprise that the restaurant – just 20 minutes’ drive from Leeds city centre – is still going strong.
The menu offers a contemporary take on authentic Pakistani and Indian cuisine, and is served in chic surroundings with a relaxed atmosphere. Eat at Zouk and you can expect a proper dining experience, without feeling rushed – the perfect environment to savour a curry with friends or family.
Food-wise, there’s a huge choice, from the gentle butter chicken to more fiery curries, like the Nalie Gosht Rajasthan-inspired dish. There are Punjabi-style Handis, Sindh Biryanis and north west Pakistani Karahi dishes.
Zouk also offers a long list of seafood specialities and vegetarian starters and mains, and the clever chefs can tailor many of the dishes to suit vegan tastes. Staff are proud of their veggie samosa chaat – a traditional Pakistani chaat which is served with a delicious fresh samosa, tamarind sauce and raita – and rightly so as it’s one of the few places to offer a non-meat version.
There are plentier of other healthier options, too, including the amazing grilled dishes. Veggies might fancy the paneer tikka skewer cooked in the Tandoor, while fish-lovers could be tempted by the seabass marinated in herbs and spices and gently grilled over the pani sigri. Of course, there’s plenty of chargrilled meat, from the Tandoori mixed grill BBQ starter to the lambchops coated in a secret Mughlai marinade. Or how about the 8oz beef ribeye steak, or the shawarmas, bathed in lemon juice, oregano and thyme then cooked over an open flame…
