Early May bank holiday will see 120,000 balls unleashed in Printworks

When Manchester Science Festival announced an adult ball pool as part of its 2015 calendar, tickets sold faster than you could say, er, 'BALLS'. Drop in sessions proved popular and the Ball Pool Ball - a disco event which combined DJs, dance floor and bar with the novelty of 80,000 white balls - sold out altogether.

Come the following October and Manchester again went ball-istic over an adult ball pool in the Printworks. So much so that its organiser, Ball Mania, is now bringing another to the venue’s Pumpyard from 28 April to 1 May.

Bigger even the last, the bank holiday bonanza will include 120,000 balls - making it the largest pool of its kind in the country.

The adult-only installation also boasts giant inflatables and a gamut of games, promising to ‘make the experience…even better then how you remember it as a kid.’

Manchester is first stop for the enormous pit, which will be touring ten UK cities. Open 10am-10pm from 28 April to 1 May, it costs £8 for a 30-minute session. Locker use costs an extra £1.

Judging by our apparent predilection for bounding around in a sea of plastic, it’s perhaps little surprise the last event sold out in 36 hours - so best get the ball rolling (sorry) if you plan to buy a ticket.

Ball Mania takes place 28 April-1 May at the Printworks - tickets £8 at ballmaniamcr.co.uk (enter discount code FRIENDS to get 4 tickets for the price of 3).
